I am hosting a fundraising soirée in support of The Amy Winehouse Foundation on 14 September 2012. Just as Amy struggled, I have struggled with my own demons and while her struggle was extremely public, mine was much less so. I have always identified with Amy—our heritage and our pride, our love of music, style, our eccentricities, and unfortunately our problems.

Think of those you know or knew that struggled with disability, drink problems, drug addiction, etc… By donating money to this charity you will be helping them and those just like them. 

The fundraiser which I will be hosting will be in the spirit of Amy. The fundraising soirée will not only be held in support of Amy and The Amy Winehouse Foundation, but for the underlying cause and mission of charities such as The Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse states: “The Amy Winehouse Foundation has been set up in Amy’s memory to support charitable activities in both the UK and abroad that provide help, support, or care for young people, especially those who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, financial disadvantage, or addiction.”
